A document titled "Ideas for the Design and Design Criteria of the National Capital" is circulating. The document contained a new face in the national capital. Kalimantan has been called by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as a replacement location for DKI Jakarta for the capital city of Indonesia. However, the President is still keeping a specific location and province that will become the new capital. In a document received by Kompas.com, Tuesday (8/20/2019), the new capital will carry the vision as a catalyst to improve Indonesia's human civilization.
The document is bearing the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in its corner. When confirmed, the Head of the Public Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Works Endra S Atmawidjaja confirmed the document. However, he ensured that the documents circulating were still limited to ideas.
"It's still a design concept," Endra wrote via a short message service to Kompas.com. So, what does the new capital's version of the document look like? There are at least three approaches outlined in the existing vision. First, reflecting national identity. In this case the national identity will be translated in a philosophical urban design from the pillars of nationalism, namely Pancasila, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, NKRI, and the 1945 Constitution.
The nation's identity will be illustrated through the morphological design and functions of the city. Then, spaces for community activities that encourage the principle of mutual cooperation and functions and containers that preserve the nation's history and culture. As a visualization of his ideas, a field will be built complete with the Pancasila Monument in the center.
